A Jobber Alternative for Small Crews and Solo Trades
By Jeff Burt, founder of Invoice Goat. Published October 17, 2026.
Invoice Goat is a Jobber alternative for trades who quote, invoice and get paid from their phone. Your customer signs the quote before you start. Then add your after photos to the invoice and send it before you pull away. Your customer pays by card or bank transfer. One plan covers all of it, for you or your crew.
Jobber is software for running a field-service business, sold in four plans. Core already has quoting, invoicing, scheduling, online booking and a website. Connect, Grow and Plus add routing, automations, two-way texting, job costing and crew scheduling.1 When the one thing you need sits on a higher plan, the rest of that plan comes with it. Invoice Goat has no higher plan, so you never pay for a bigger plan just to get a photo onto an invoice.
Where Each Step of a Job Sits in Jobber's Plans
Take one job and look up each step in Jobber's own plan table. The quote, the calendar and the invoice all sit on Core. The price climbs in two places. Photos and files on the invoice are on Grow and Plus only, not on Core or Connect. And each person you add costs another $29 a month, on every plan. Jobber counts a user as anyone who logs in to view or manage the schedule, so the helper who checks tomorrow's jobs counts too.1 A commenter on r/handyman put it plainly on January 22, 2026: “It does have a lot of features, but unfortunately they charge you for everything.”4
Where each step of a job sits
Your Photos Go Where Your Customer Pays
Invoice Goat takes photos, video and documents (a receipt, a timesheet, a W-9) on any quote or invoice. Attach the before photos to the quote and they follow it to the invoice. Your customer sees the proof of work on the same page where they pay.
“The before and after photo feature is huge for me. Even when customers aren't home, I can show proof of work and get paid fast.” Jose L., Landscaper
Hiring a Helper Doesn't Change Your Bill
Many of our customers run several techs on one account. They all share one login, so the helper you take on for the busy season doesn't move your price. A Jobber customer with a 5-person crew wrote in a Capterra review dated September 27, 2026: “we had to cut a few staff seats to stay within budget.”3
Quote to Paid, From Your Phone
Invoice Goat sticks to the job and its paperwork, and all of it works in your phone's browser. Type a few notes at the house and it turns them into a clean quote. Your customer signs it on their phone, and the quote PDF shows the signature with the date, time and IP address. Tap Schedule and the job lands on your calendar, filled in from the quote.
When the work's done, tap Invoice on the quote and a new invoice opens with the lines already in it. Took down a second tree while you were there? Add it to the invoice, and the quote your customer signed stays as it was. Your customer pays by card or bank transfer through your own Stripe account. Cash, check, Zelle and PayPal payments get recorded on the invoice, so you can see who still owes you. Nothing waits for you at the kitchen table that night.
Customers move fast, too. As of September 2026, 64% of quotes sent through Invoice Goat were approved within 24 hours, and 31% of invoices were paid within 24 hours.9
To see a finished quote first, make one with the free quote maker. If your crew works from a job sheet, the free work order maker gives you a PDF your customer can sign off. And if you're new to billing, start with how to invoice as a contractor.
Invoice Goat and Jobber, Row by Row
Jobber shows three prices for every plan, depending on how long you commit, so all three are here. They're in US dollars, from its pricing page on October 17, 2026.1

Moving Your Clients Off Jobber
The one thing to get right is your client list. When your Jobber plan ends, you lose access to your clients, jobs and invoices there, so get them out first.8
- Export from Jobber before you cancel. An admin can export your clients as a CSV or vCard file, and Jobber emails it to you. Jobber says client exporting is available on select plans.6 The Quotes and Invoices reports each have Export to CSV, sent to the email you log in with.7
- Set up Invoice Goat yourself for free, or book the $199 onboarding hour with me and I'll move your data over. If your books live in QuickBooks, read how Invoice Goat works next to QuickBooks.
- Send your next quote from Invoice Goat. The jobs already open in Jobber can finish there.
- Cancel Jobber once those jobs are invoiced. Only an admin can cancel, and on a 1-year commitment, billing runs monthly to the end of the 12 months.1
What People Ask Before Leaving Jobber
Is Jobber worth it?
Not if your day is quoting, invoicing and getting paid. Jobber is built to run a whole field-service business, kitchen sink included. Invoice Goat is just that job: the signed quote, the invoice with your photos, and the payment, all from your phone on one plan, with nothing buried in menus.
Is Jobber free?
No. Jobber has a 14-day free trial with the Grow plan's features and no credit card, and its paid plans start at Core. Invoice Goat has no free plan either, but its trial has no clock: your first quote and invoice are free, with every feature and no card, so you can run a real job through it before you pay.
How much does Jobber cost per month?
Jobber's Core plan is $29 a month for one user if you pay for the year up front. That's the first price you see, because its pricing page opens on yearly billing. With a 1-year commitment billed monthly, Core is $39 a month, and with no commitment it's $49. Connect and Grow cost more under the same three terms, and each added user is another $29 a month. Invoice Goat is $79 a month, or $69 a month billed yearly.
Does Invoice Goat sync with QuickBooks?
Not directly. Online payments run through your own Stripe account, and a QuickBooks sync app from the Stripe App Marketplace can carry them into QuickBooks (some charge a fee). Cash, check, Zelle and PayPal payments go into QuickBooks by hand. Your bookkeeper can also get your invoices as a spreadsheet export whenever they ask.
Can my whole crew work from one Invoice Goat account?
Yes. Everyone on your crew signs in with the same login and works from the same customers, quotes, invoices and calendar. The price is the same whether it's you alone or you and four helpers.
Do I need to download an app?
No. Invoice Goat runs in your phone's browser, so there's nothing to install, and it keeps you signed in between jobs. Open it on a tablet or a computer and it's the same account.
Try it on your next job, from the signed quote to the photos on the invoice.
